MANCHESTER - Gail Kawan died peacefully on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at Hahnemann Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. She was 68.
Born and raised in Mountainside, NJ, she resided in Lakewood before settling in Manchester 30 years ago.
A history teacher, she worked for the Freehold Township Board of Education since 2003. Passionate about history, she also volunteered her time at the Newseum in Washington, DC, driving down every other weekend. She also incorporated her love of history into travelling and spending time with her family - especially her grandchildren.

MANCHESTER - Gail Kawan died peacefully on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at Hahnemann Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. She was 68.
Born and raised in Mountainside, NJ, she resided in Lakewood before settling in Manchester 30 years ago.

She was predeceased by her parents, Fred and Evelyn Farcher; and her grandmother, Josephine Swigel.
Surviving is her loving husband of 48 years, Michael; her daughters: Cristina Hemler and her husband, Richard; and Jenna Kawan and her significant other, Simeon Baker; 3 beloved grandchildren: Collin, Isabella, and Evelina; 2 loving cousins: Linda and Ginny Swigel; and several other loving extended family members.
A visitation will be held at the D'Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Ave., Lakewood, on Saturday from 9:30-10:15AM. Funeral services will be at 10:15AM. Interment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union.
